Deserted City
It’s eastern and I’m down in Manila (again - for the past year or so I’ve spent about as much time here as at home).
Today though the city is hardly recognizable, it seems like everyone has left for the country side. The streets that are usually crowded around the clock, with crazy buses that make their own lanes, are deserted, with a few confused cabs driving around looking for customers.
The loud noise of traffic, with cars blowing their horns, engines coughing and breaking down and guards blowing their whistles is also gone.
It’s actually quite silent and peaceful and the ride between the hotel and the office, that usually takes some twenty minutes, now takes less than five. Wish it would always be like this here.
The down side though is that _everything_ is closed, so finding a place to eat is proving quite hard…
